Birds to Watch: Two potential birds for Mainland China

Abstract: As birding activities are getting more and more popular in Mainland China. A couple of new records of avian species for China were contributed by bird-watchers during the recent years. Herein, we introduce the distribution, field identification and status of Red-breasted Flycatcher (Ficedula parva) and Ijima’s Leaf Warbler (Phylloscopus ijimae), two potential species for Mainland China, to arouse the attention and interests of birdwatchers for future discoveries.
中国大陆的观鸟活动呈现出蓬勃发展的趋势，特别是近年来，又有数个中国新记录鸟种被发现。仅2005年至2006年，就有白颊鹎（Pycnonotus leucogenys）（张高峰等，2006）、蓝腰短尾鹦鹉（Psittinus cyanurus）（林剑声等，2005）、暗背雨燕（Apus acuticauda）（雷进宇、刘阳，2006）、休氏白喉林莺（Sylvia althaea）（Holt P.in prep.）、欧金鸻（Pluvialis apricaria）（Holt P. in litt. to Liu Yang）、钳嘴鹳（Anastomus oscitans）（王亦天，2006）等6个鸟种相继在中国境内被首次记录，这些记录均主要为观鸟者所贡献。刘阳（2006）预测了在中国陆地及领海潜在分布的鸟种，其中的一些已经被证实或者已经获得重要线索。这些潜在的分布物种中，有些是与一些常见的物种形态极为相似，在野外分辨难度较高，有可能会被观鸟者所忽略。红胸姬鹟（Ficedula parva）和艾吉柳莺（Phylloscopus ijimae）就是这样的鸟类。故笔者将在本文中介绍这两种可能在中国大陆分布的鸟种的分布、分类和辨识，以提醒观鸟者今后注意。
